Biography
KENNEDY VON KAT
Hailing from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Kennedy Von Kat is a rising force in modern metalcore, blending the nostalgia of 2000s metalcore and emo with gothic metal, hard rock, and a cinematic horror aesthetic. Her sound is built around haunting melodies, soaring vocals, gritty screams, crushing instrumentation, and emotionally charged guitar work, creating a world that feels dark, dramatic, and deeply personal.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Motionless In White, Evanescence, Violent Vira, HIM, Pierce The Veil, Bring Me The Horizon, and Paramore, Kennedy has developed a sound that pays homage to the music that shaped her while pushing it into something uniquely her own. Her music explores heartbreak, trauma, mental health, self-identity, self-worth, obsession, and emotional resilience, transforming personal experiences into songs that allow listeners to feel understood rather than alone.
Following the release of her debut EP, BLOOD ON THE ALTAR, Kennedy has continued building momentum with singles including “PSYCHODRAMA,” “DESOLATE,” “Fangs,” “Driving Me Insane,” and “Corpse Bride.” Her growing catalogue has surpassed tens of thousands of streams, while her music has received radio support from stations including ROCK 95, 97.7 HTZ FM, and BTPM The Bridge. Her work has also captured the attention of established names within the rock and alternative music world, including Craig Mabbitt, Vic Fuentes, Lzzy Hale, and members of Escape The Fate.
Kennedy has collaborated with a growing roster of artists, producers, and creatives, including Erik Jensen of Escape The Fate, 52Blu, HOWLEAN, Siegfried Meier, Quinn Cyrankiewicz, and Deer Fang. Her single “DESOLATE” was produced and mixed by Juno Award winner Siegfried Meier and mastered by Troy Glessner, while her more recent work continues to expand her heavier sonic direction.
Her live performances are just as important to her artistry as the recordings themselves. Kennedy brings an energetic, theatrical, and emotionally immersive presence to the stage, combining the intensity of metalcore with the visual world of gothic horror. She has shared stages with a variety of Canadian artists, performed at NXNE Festival, won first place in the 2024 Mic Drop Competition, and received three Niagara Music Award nominations.
Now entering her darkest and heaviest chapter yet, Kennedy Von Kat is preparing to release her second EP, PARASITE, on September 11, 2026. The five-track project represents a major evolution in her sound, moving further away from pop influences and deeper into 2000s metalcore, gothic metal, and emo. Built around the concept of people and experiences that feel like they have infected your life, PARASITE explores heartbreak, toxic relationships, trauma, obsession, loss of identity, and ultimately the process of reclaiming yourself.
With a growing discography, increasing industry recognition, powerful visual storytelling, and a sound that refuses to fit neatly into one box, Kennedy Von Kat is carving out her own space in the modern alternative and metal scene — turning darkness into art and personal pain into something powerful.
